Your basic knowledge has let you down again matey, Barrichello took 11 poles in his 6 year ferrari career and half of these happened when shumi had quali problems, ie Shumi having a grid penalty in 04,shumi spinning off the track in qualifying for the inaugural Chinese GP and also the British GP 2003 when shumacher was on course for pole but went off the track. Many of RBs other poles came in similar circumstances and last season i belive it was 9-9 between Button and Barrichello tells you something when Ms once went two seasons in a row only being outqualified once per season.

Lol what a marvelous spin! So you are saying that had Schu not went off the track, he would have had pole. You know if I slept with your uncle i'd probably be your auntie! I would say Ribena got pole because he was the best man at setting fast times and not spining off.....therefore he beat Schumacher. It seems my source of reference for RB poles has let me down....time to look for another site, but 11 or 16 its still more than never. You make a fair point about the ratio's but as Rubens had teams orders at Ferrari and none at Honda, the point is moot. |

But team orders were barely ever used because Shumacher was always so far ahead. My point was that Barrichello only got many of those poles through shumis mistakes not because he was faster. |

Saint...poles just give you an advantage at the start. On very few occasions did Barrichello actually win through his own pace being faster than Schumacher's. Of course there are exceptions, like Silverstone 2003 which is one of his best ever races...but the gulf in class between the 2 was huge, and you can't say that on all those 11 poles, or however many, Barrichello had the upper hand in the race. Senna won 41 races yet had 65 pole positions...does that mean he should have won all those but was stopped by a teammate? No. It's not a comparison you can use. One set of standings counts...the final points tally. |

well safc me old fruit, it is something we could argue until the cows come home, but its back to the old team orders again. Lets change tack a little here and let me ask you what Button would have to do to win you over. If he won the WDC this year would you put it down to a better car? Or would y'all eat crow? I bet it tastes like chicken! |

At the end of the day, if Rubens had been given equal No1 statusb at Ferrari it would have made NO difference to his career, he would have STILL been Michael's whipping boy, they are oceans apart in regards to talent! Yes, every blue moon Rubens would have his day, fair enough, but even Federer, Woods have bad days, doesn't mean the guy that might beat them on VERY limited occasions are in the same league. Also plainly the fact that Rubens had a 9/9 split with Button in Q last year suggest the Brazilian is pretty handy at qualifying, and this highlights even further just how GREAT Schumacher is! I assume saying that Button dominated Rubens more than Michael is to allow comparisons between the Englishman and the German?! |

It's not down to team orders at all, it's down to talent! Button will never win me over because I don't like his attitude. I would have no problem if he was to be champ but I don't need to worry about that because he is some distance from winning the title. |

Team orders in Qualifying??? Ok then! "Eh Rubens could you slow down a wee bit in case you beat Michael, Just don't slow down enough i.e a fraction of a second that ALL our rivals leap frog you" Team orders in the race I can get my head round quite easilly, but in the margins of Qualifying..........I think not!!! |
