Rob is correct. RB gave MS a good run for his money in many races, but obviously he could not follow his faster pace through because of team orders. You go into denial, but RB was indeed faster than Schu, and you can find those figures at lots of sites. I think you say you feel RB will be better in 07 than o6 because it reinforces your hostile feelings towards the English Honda driver. You say you cannot write Raikkonen off becuase he has never been in a 'top team' (lets not get into the fact that mclaren are the second most successful ever) but neither has Button, but you are more than willing to write him off..... Hmmm never did like that queens gambit much! |

This is all because of how great England think they are in all sports, for example they beat us in Rugby last weekend and we were very poor the next day you here them talking about retaining the world cup ,its not the people but the media unfortunately which gives not just the Scots but other nationalities that are bored of there constant pish talk.

I didn't say he'd fail, I also rate Kimi highly and enjoy watching him race. I was just putting the situation into perspective. Many people are saying it's possible Kimi may not perfrom well this year and that he deserves slack for this as he's joining a new team and may not be used to the car. I for one don't believe this will be the case. I was just saying IF..... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "This is all because of how great England think they are in all sports, for example they beat us in Rugby last weekend and we were very poor the next day you here them talking about retaining the world cup ,its not the people but the media unfortunately which gives not just the Scots but other nationalities that are bored of there constant pish talk. " --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think you'll find this attitude prevalent in any country. When Scotland and Wales didn't make it to the last world cup I was really dissappointed. I don't think the feeling would have been reciprocated. I believe it's a shame that many top players from those countries will never get to perform at that level, but you still see them shine in other forums. |

Williams a top team wanted him and Honda one of the worlds biggest motor companies believed he was the one to represent them on this world stage and paid handsomely. I think that worthy of merit |

NO, you give me one weekend which Barrichello won that MS didnt spin, had a problem or retired. There are none every GP Shumi was quicker. "Many races" no he didnt this team orders thing is bullshit because they only used them twice at Austria 01,02 both races Shumi was quicker but had had problems which put him behind RB. Other than that Barrichello was never denied by team orders he was just so inferior to MS. Can you please take the English bit out of there im tired of it, i say this because i know Barrichello is a muc better driver than last season showed lets face it he couldnt have got much worse. |

Alas England (or should we say the Enlglish people) do not think it is great in all sports. If only we were....... If the English media hype an English team....is that a good reason to hate the team or maybe more a reason to hate the English media. But then the English media are a couple of thousand people in a population of millions! In other words, you cant hold Jenson accountable for James Allen. But if you wish to drop the subject that is fine. |

The top 3 teams in F1 at no point have ever tried to sign him and they know a hell of alot more than us. When they have had the chances they havent bothered. |

If Frank had known what he knows now he would have nurtured JB like Ron is doing now with Hamilton rather than drop him for JPM and Ralphy babe. Frank came crawling back a tad too late to offer Jenson something. If anything, JB turned down a drive with one of the top teams (ok not doing so well right now) in favour of developing his own career elsewhere. I'd say he's going in the right direction. As for DC . . . . he should have been WDC but several key car failures deprived him of the opportunity and DC infact got blamed by Ronny. It's easy to see how stats hide the truth. |

It was definetely the right decision not to go to Williams who are on a dowward spiral, last season Honda scored 86,87 points? and Williams only scored 10 got dam lucky in the end. I can see why Frank let go of Button sort of with the oppurtunity of someone like Montoya coming to it was important for him to straight into a top team and one of the drivers had to be dropped, i wouldnt really like to contemplate it but it is concievable if Jense had stayed with williams in 2003 he could have atleast have been in the title race with that great car. I totally agree with you about DC, Ron never missed a chance to blame a stall or mistake on Coulthard even after looking at the problem properly they were always Maccas fault. Of course he would never say any of this about his lover boy Hakkinen.

this thread is very entertaining so it seems a shame to spoil it by throwing in actual facts. but i couldnt resist this example of schumi being quicker at every gp. 2003 british gp friday practice 4 2 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 1:20.604 9 1 Michael Schumacher Ferrari 1:20.992 sat practice 1 2 2 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 1:22.397 3 1 Michael Schumacher Ferrari 1:22.659 sat practice 2 2 2 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 1:21.587 3 1 Michael Schumacher Ferrari 1:21.608 saturday qualifying 1 2 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 1:21.209 5 1 Michael Schumacher Ferrari 1:21.867 race 1 2 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 60 1:28:37.554 4 1 Michael Schumacher Ferrari 60 +25.6 secs Fastest Lap: Rubens Barrichello 1:22.236 Michael Schumacher 1:23.024 oops! sorry this thread is about jenson isnt it? |

, at no point in Barrichellos 6 years with ferrari was he genuinely quicker than Shumi, plus last season he seemed to get most of the bad luck which made his points tally look so poor, in qualifyng atleast they were very close in fact i believe RB had the best of it.
,its not the people but the media unfortunately which gives not just the Scots but other nationalities that are bored of there constant pish talk.
