Just wondering what's wrong with checking facts...I could read a page of stats for ages because there is just so much to take from them... |

Unfortuately we were never going to agree but the thread has been quite fun to post in and very few silly comments. Although Saints factual errors put him on the back foot. |

I made one silly error (JPM) and quoted someone else’s incorrect stats. My argument was based on logic and not prejudice. If a person says they cannot stand someone, then there view of that person is going to be tainted. We are now dicussing the debate and not debating the subject. As for the fact part, I stand by what I said. I know that I like Indian food, but I cannot give you dates, places and names of all the places I have eaten it. In the same way, I can recall on many occasions Rubens having to cede his position to Schumacher. And although I could possibly research and get those dates for you, several things stop me. 1/ There is no fun in sifting through tons of race data (assuming of course that I could find it) 2/ Even if I gave you documented evidence, it would not change your view of Button, having already stated you cannot stand him. 3/ It sets a standard where everyone has to document the basis for their views, and provide links, and takes away from the spirit. In case you did not understand the Indian food analogy, let me try another. I know the sun comes up in the morning, and I can tell you that, and you would be asinine to ask me to provide evidence. Nevertheless I know it comes up. I don’t see anyone else in any other thread asking for people to provide links. But I have to say that at this point awe seem to be going around in circles, so I want to throw an idea at you. A live debate, on somewhere like MSN, where we can discuss this in real time, and not have the luxury of sitting back for 20 minutes to come up with an answer you looked up on google! I would like to try it, as it would be a tester for a little idea I have in mind for a regular feature on this board. What do you say my friend? When we have concluded I will tidy the MSN chat up (spelling), post it to you for your approval and then publish it here, a little like the DC19/Paul Murtagh thing. |

For a start you have jumped to conclusions, i do NOT google something as basic as how many poles barrichello had at ferrari. I just feel there is no point in you saying there have been many times when RB was faster because this clearly isnt true, so i asked you to provide backup for this comment which you didnt do showing that there were very few times which team orders were used as ferrari which i already knew. I dont feel much point in publishing a chat because we will clearly never agree, Paul and DC19 have a similar favourite drivers and views etc so they can post theres without starting an argumnt, i doubt we could to be honest.

Ok I don’t think the amount of poles someone has had is basic unless you are a big Rubens fan. I heave never seen you express that you are a fan of his, I doubt anyone here knew how many poles he had with Ferrari either, though I know for a fact someone will chirp in that they did. I recall many races where Rubens was faster than Schu then suddenly (miraculously) he wasn’t. I know this as a fact, like I know the sun comes up in the morning. There are many sites that provide the race date such as the result and who got the fastest lap, but I have yet to find one that breaks it down to the detail I would require to back up my argument. My reply was honest, it would take a huge amount of research, and its pointless because it was not even the topic of this thread - But you wont let go, I guess I cannot blame you really as your arguments before this were weak. But you have clearly changed your debating strategy as you has such a weak foundation for the original debate, which was Button is crap/good. As this is a friendly forum, and due to the fact that I cannot pursue my argument without using all the tools I need to shut you up (and stray away from the fundamental rule – attack the subject not the poster), I suggest we shake hands, agree to differ, call it a draw and look forward to a new debating point. I don’t know about you but this is getting a bit boring and we have reached the point where we need to exercise some self censorship. As such, I end my input here. |

Ok, thats fine if we finish. Please though dont be so disillusional in future, you made basic mistakes yet you said my points were weak. Your reply might have been honest but it wasnt based on fact and made yourself look like a right tool at times referring to Montoya as DC roflmao . Also the fact that you got so desperately out of your depth that you might have to start personally insulting me makes me laugh. wickewitch over to you! |
