Could Cosworth make a come back with Prodrive in 2008?

So much for the independant teams re-entering F1.

I could be wrong, but I think I may have dreamt about someone telling me they read it someplace.

It's not absolute.

I think you are right Rob I remember reading this somewhere. I don't think it has been confirmed yet but it's no secret that Dave Richards is looking to be a customer of not only Mercedes but a McLaren chassis. Could this lead to a race drive for Gary Paffett or Pedro de la Rosa?

I think Prodrive should be going on their own and not as a customer of another team. They have proved in the WRC and even during their time as a technical partner to BAR that they are more than capable of developing by themselves. Maybe they should try developing an engine relationship with Mercedes or BMW instead of becoming a secondary team

It's not absolute.

No, it has not been finalised yet.

Ronald might be a bit unhappy as Dave Richards Pro-Drive were accepted into F1 when Ronald's own idea for a number 2 team, Direxiv, were not.

So depending on how Ronald feels about that he may or may not be inclined to do a deal with Dave.

The other option for Dave could be a marriage with BMW and I am lead to believe that Dave is courting them too.

Dave is very scruffy but he is a very good team manager and Honda should not have let him go. They would be much better than they are now if they had retained his services.

Yeah I think that BAR/Honda not let him go then they could be genuine championship contenders. He done wonders in 3 years in charge of the team and his reward from turning an average team into a good team - the sack! At least at Prodrive he owns and runs the outfit so it can't happen this time. Unless the FIA presidency comes up - could he be Max's replacement?

That would be a surprise, IMO. I think Jackie Stewart would be a much better candiate, or even Damon Hill.

F1 Racing tips ex-Jaguar bod Tony Purnell for Max's job. To be honest I don't mind who gets the job, as long as it isn't Jean Todt.

How about Eddie Jordan?

Now that would be something!!! The championship and motor sport in general would be turned on it's head and it would generate a whole new group of fans following the sport. He would introduce crazy but entertaining rules directed at giving the fans more excitment and entertainment
