*The STIG likes this
*The STIG doesn't like this (with the possible exception of the colour scheme. I like that, just not the rest of it)

For reference - The first one is a Talon 100rt (Metro with a MGF engine in it, basically) and the second is a Vauxhall (opel) Corsa.

Firstly, why would anyone want a car that looks like a sporty Metro (unless it's a 6R4).

Secondly, what sort of idiot puts a K series engine in anything considering how easily the things destroy themselves??

Cheers norbert, incidently, if you type //me in front of the sentence it puts your username in in red... (only one slash though)

Right, why would anyone want one? Because it looks like an ordinary metro (you could even leave the 1.1. badges on it) and yet can outperform many other cars.

Plus metros are cheap.

K series are ok, provided you up-grade the head gasket...

and put much, much better studs on...... the reason the head goes is because the studs don't just hold the head on, they go all the way through the block into the crankcase! Hence they are very prone to stretching/failure if the engine gets too hot, and even a minor overheat causes disaster. Hence why so many Freelanders have had blown engines - one quick trip off-road, bit of gunk gets on rad, engine warms up, studs go funny, head moves, gasket leaks, bye-bye mucho wonga!

My turn to look for a new vehicle - I'm looking for a small van to join my stable. Any Suggestions?

(the 106 is staying, but will be retired to allow me to work on it).
