with the current paddock rumours of MS joining Renault for 2007, do you think this should happen......

Good choice for MS if Ferrari aren't performing?

Ideal replacement for Alonso?

Is this a good decision for Renault? Will it bring them a third (maybe) consecutive title in Alonso's absence.....

MS has previously claimed he's not moving again, except into retirement. However, we all know how he likes to have a competative car under him and to be able to mix it with the others, if not to widdle on their fireworks. Maybe another rubbish showing from Ferrari, and a good one from Renault might tempt him? Who knows? I'd like to see him head-to-head with Alonso to see how they compare. 2004 was a Ferrari steam roller, 2005 was similar for Renault (at least in comparison to Ferrari's pace, albeit not McLaren). So Ferdi in a quick Mac and MS in a quick Renault could be a joy to behold.....

If this season continues the way it is going for Ferrari, he will definitely not be there next year.

If Renault want to go for someone, they should go for Raikkonen. If he had a reliable car, he would be just about a certain world champion. I couldn't say the same about Schumacher any more.

That's alright, I'm sure MS wouldn't endorse your reportoire either.... <thumbs>

I'm the same Norb, but I dont' care who wins I just want some close racing.....the Kimi/Alonso battle was good last year on an individual race basis but overall he already had too big a lead, lets hope it doesn't happen this year and someone, button, kimi, montoya, whoever can close him down sooner and give us some entertainment, the scenario you talk about would be excellent viewing.....

I thought he was going to start his own team, with backing from VW

The reason I say that Schumacher wouldn;t be the best option is because of the errors he has been making over the last year trying to push a poor car. He didn;t do that in the past, and he has had his fair share of poor Ferraris.

Just because he has won 7 titles does not mean that he is still the best. Alonso is now the best.

Or maybe, with 7 titles, he doesn't care about falling off any more as he's got nothing left to prove, and if he crunches the car while lapping faster than anyone (at the time), so what?

In that case, he should take Jackie Stewart's advice and retire before he does himself harm!

If he crashed when he's pushing hard it shows he no longer has what he had - the ability to consistently lap fastest.

Montoya did the same thing there, twice!

And?

We all know Montoya isn't championship material. Raikkonen didn't crash there even though he had a broken front wing for half the race!

Raikkonen didn;t push until the last lap when he suddenly gained half a second. If he'd gone that half second quicker for the whole race, he'd probably have won. Or blown up....

So on the penultimate lap, he burned off half a second's worth of fuel??? What did he do, coast around and red line it the whole lap???
