Is he staking his claim for another season in F1? Yes he is getting beaten by hiedfeld, but thats to be expected i think hidefeld can easily challenge button, but he is doing better than quite a few who i would have expected toget a drive for nxt year before him, the trullys and coulthards of the grid! Plus he seems to be starting to help himself by working with the companies rather than being the reble. I for one hope he gets a drive for next year and retains some of the reble in him cos thats what F1 needs. |

JV had a penalty after quali so that explains why Heidfeld had a better day today. BMW are going well though, and its good to see that Villeneuve seems to have got his act together a bit more this season. |

i always expected him too, i knew it would take him time after being out for a while, just look at how much rubens is struggling in the bar and he hasnt taken a break. |

always been a big J.V. fan. i love the fact that he has such outspoken views and is actually a good driver. shame he's been let down by some poor equipment in the past. if he can keep this up why cant he have another year. |

JV has got his head down and sorted his issues from last year. Would love to say he could get another year in F1 but I think that will be as a test driver. BMW it seems do not like him. Where else could he go for a race seat? The only place I could see him would be Midland or one of next years' new teams, eg Prodrive (although with David Richards that's unlikely too, considering their history at BAR) Personally I think a third driver role with a team like Renault with whom he has a (breif) connection would suit him down to the ground. He obviously will have loads of experience. I can see him and DC retiring from full time racing at the end of this year to be test drivers. |

BMW are doing a lot better then expected and look to be the suprise package of the season. Next year should be an improvement when the BMW influence really kicks. There is an arguement for keeping the team the same. |

JV has exactly the same amount of points as his teammate, and on sunday managed to come from 19th to 6th, which is far better than Nick has managed. Jacques is one of the best drivers on the grid, and deserves a drive next season. |

i've got it. when Ferrari get sick of Massa, (by France say), who better to draft in to replace him in a straight swap. One more crack at the big time for JV..... wishful thinking i fear however.... |

Unfortunatly, Ferrari will never get tired of Massa, due to nepotism. However, if JV continues as he is, Mario will have to come up with a big reason to drop him. I would say that a BMW seat next year will probably be better than a Ferrari seat, (at least as long as Aldo Costa is designing the Ferrari). |
