That was one hell of a lap. <clap>
I'm not a button fan, but he deserved that pole.

Shame the cameras all missed it. Great lap, but the job is nowhere near done.

you know, I am not a JB fan (although I really wanted to be when he started in F1, he is the same age as me) but I think that my opinion of him is changing this year, You know...he might just do it.

I agree it was a great lap and I’m not taking anything away from that - but can he win the race?
Barring any accidents or mechanical failures, JB will finish 5th at best.

I might be proven wrong, but I think Renault and Maclaren have more fuel than Honda.

Also Honda are not known for their strategy, looking at the last race, every time JB emerged from the pits he got held up in traffic.

They got their 'strategy' right today. For pole at least. Not for Barrichello though :)

Button really needs to win a race this season, or people like myself will have been proved right.

Couldn't agree more.

The best qualy lap of the season (so far).
<bow>

However Pat Symonds looked pretty relaxed afterwards!

I think Jenson may be able to mix it with the Macca's but he could well end up 5th.

Or 6th - never rule out ye olde Schumi!! <pissed>

The Macca's will be nowhere. If you look at the pace of the cars, so far, Honda is just behind Renault. Kimi managed to beat Jenson in Bahrain, due to Ralf's Toyota, but the Honda has been consistently faster than the Macca.

If Kimi or Monty manage to win a race this season, I will be very suprised. IMHO, the battle will be between Fernando and Jenson.

As someone who enjoys Ron-watching when the Macca's are nowhere lets hope you are right!

I suspect we will be hearing the Spanish national athem at the end.
But Jenson will be on a high and I don't want rule out Fisi either.
I know it may be wishful thinking for him to beat his team-mate in a straight fight, but I would really like to see what happened if he rattled Alonso's cage a bit more.
Like in Montreal last season perhaps?

Actually I think it will be between Alonso and Fisi. IMO Renault is miles ahead of everyone.

I agree that Renault are the car to beat, Jense seems to be able to match the pace but not compete against it...
