Weekend weather update - 36 and rising 16 March 2006 Welcome to a steamy Sepang, where the Malaysian Grand Prix follows hard on the heels of the Bahrain race as the second round of the 2006 FIA Formula One World Championship. The weather is always hot and humid here, and this year is clearly not going to be an exception. While there is always a chance of rain here, it never last long. Thursday’s ambient temperature high is likely to top out at 36 degrees Celsius, climbing to 38 through the remainder of the weekend. The 5.543 kilometre circuit is unchanged since Fernando Alonso put his Renault on pole and won last year. The race will run over 56 laps (310.408 kilometres) and will start at 1500 hours local time (0700 GMT). |

But even if the rain doesn't last long, it will drench the circuit. Let's hope it rains then! |

So Friday practice is totally meaningless once again. I wish this engine rule would go. It's pointless, and a waste of a day really. |

ou're right cpg. Friday would be better served by an hour and a half free practice in the morning and then an hour of timed practice in the after noon. Same again on Saturday and then half an hour warm up on Sunday morning |

It's not so much the timing of the sessions, it's the fact that the engine ruling means teams are reluctant to go out on track on Fridays. And is it 5 engine penalties this weekend or more? That's a bit much! |

That would be funny! The shock though is that Ferrari, Renault and Honda have had to replace engines before McLaren! |

It'll be interesting to see how Schumacher goes through the field tomorrow, or rather IF he does. Hopefully, ith decent cars further back, we will also see what they get up to. |
