lets imagine its a few months down the line...
Kimi's resigned for Mclaren, and Alonso is coming at end of season. Does anyone else think there may be a Prost/Senna type problem. I.E. Two brilliant drivers both accusing the other of having preferential treatment . Hence causing the breakdown of two great drivers into petty squabbles.
agreements/disagreements?

No. Raikkonen doesn't seem the complaining type. I don't think it would be a problem, or at least I'd hope it wouldn;t be a problem.

It's the driver pairing I bet most F1 fans want to see, so I hope it happens and that if it does, they are given equal cars and are allowed to race each other like Prost and Senna were.

For one thing, it would put an end to the argumane tbnaout who is better! Well, it should...

I don't see the same type of in-fighting, since Kimi's not the outspoken sort and today's sponsors would demand Ron to quickly put an end to anything public.

but privately? Yes. I can see those 2 in a hate-hate relationship at McLaren. But you'll tend to get that with 2 top drivers in an overly competative/expensive series like F1 - where teams are trying to keep down costs but still find a way to race 2 cars (one will argue that the other got the better engineers or newer equipment).

even iif the drivers dont, most of the fans will suggest prefferential treatment. That debate will never end, especially not on BBC board. "kimis better than Alonso. Alonso's better than kimi. kimi gets a better car. alonso gets a better car. mclaren love kimi. mclaren love alonso" ad nausum. if anything it'll probably make the debate worse

...it won't cpg ... not on the Beeb Board anyway.

Whilst it would be great to see them both drive the same cars and whilst, in theory, that should stop any arguements about who's best, they'll still be those who think one has the better car/ engine/ tyres/ luck/ hairstyle than the other...

...tho in the case of Alonso - who could beat that mop <erm>

No driver team will be allowed to race like Prost/Senna ever again. Most important, the cars break MUCH easier now than then and secondly, no team will risk the chance of losing the constructors title or WDC because the drivers are trying to wreck each other.

I'm mainly posting on there for the F1 05 thread only now. I'm fed up of the repeated threads (yawn), the bickering between rival fans (yawn) and the 'server too busy' messages (double yawn)

The Raikkonen-Montoya partnership hasn't lived up to expectations at all, and Montoya hasn't performed great for Mclaren, so they should consider Kimi over Montoya every time. The thing about them saying they want to keep Raikkonen must be a bit downhearting for Montoya though. Not the best thing for the team to come out with!

Glad you pointed that out, I mean in terms of being allowed to race each other. Alonso-Raikkonen I don't think would turn nasty like Senna-Prost did.

I dont know. If after a couple of seasons Alonso felt Kimi was being treated as No. 1 i bet he'd have a go at Kimi. It'd just take one to be cleverer than the other in the race's to wind the other up, i.e. Montoya and Ralf France 03'/04'

It's sad that team-mates could act like that to one another. McLaren should take the gamble though. Some risks are worth taking. Having the 2 best drivers in f1 (assuming Schumacher retires) should net you great results.

It would also prove whether Raikkonen is to blame for his engine failures!

Your right there Hon. Nothing will stop the silly arguments on the beeb. The Kimi bashers will find some reason to have a go as will the Alonso ones <doh>
