Since summer has officially started for many of you, Camp Hyrule questions and concerns have poured onto the forums. Sit tight, grab a snack, play your summer video games, and relax. You've still got plenty of time to prepare for Camp Hyrule. What is Camp Hyrule? Camp Hyrule is a virtual summer camp hosted by Nintendo of America every August. It's not an actual camp that you leave your home to attend. Instead, you access it from your computer via the Internet, just like you're accessing these forums. Camp Hyrule is designed to look and function like a realistic camp, except with a fun Nintendo twist. What do you do there? Traditional Camp Hyrule activities and events are famous. To really experience it, just plan on signing up and checking it out yourself. In the past, campers have had the opportunity to: 1. Explore the camp through a map. 2. Be assigned to a cabin with NOA camp counselors. 3. Compete with other cabins and teams by earning points. 4. Play exclusive Camp Hyrule games (some are camp-based, others are Nintendo-based). 5. Participate in chats and message boards with other campers and NOA camp counselors. 6. Chat with special guests. 7. Vote fellow campers for camp awards. How old is Camp Hyrule? The first Camp Hyrule took place in August 1995. Camp Hyrule 2005 will be the eleventh Camp Hyrule! You might run into a few campers who have attended camp every single year. How long does it last and when does it take place? Camp lasts about a week and takes place in August. Keep an eye on the official Camp Hyrule website and the Bulletin Board here at NSider for future announcements. The 2005 dates have not yet been announced. What do I need to do to attend Camp Hyrule? You'll need to register for the event and be available in August when Camp Hyrule is happening. If school starts for you during that time, you can still participate in the late afternoon. You don't have to be at Camp Hyrule all day or all week to participate in at least some of the events. You'll receive more details about age and registration requirements when you sign up. When and where can I register? Traditionally, registration takes place in late July or early August. It will open at the official Camp Hyrule website. The 2005 registration dates have not yet been announced. Visit the official site regularly to check for updates. Registration usually opens between the early morning and afternoon of the first registration day. |
