This one's coming down, it's leaning too much and starting to sway dangerously. It would clip the corner of the house if it came down. It's maybe 6' from my house, so getting down is interesting.

They do it one branch at a time, secured from above with a rope. That way it doesn't drop but can be guided down:

Here's another segment, showing them getting a larger branch:

More later. THey're still in the middle of this.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

By the way, that guy in the tree? I've watched him climb around and contort himself every which way while stretching to use the chainsaw, one hand only, sometimes right sometimes left, depending on the situation. He must be in epic shape.

Oh, and he's not even wearing gloves.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Good show
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

That's not a $99 Walmart special he's using to cut with...Those saws are made a little different in the way the handles are attached and the balance points. They also have a lot of oomph for the size.

I bet his powerhead doesn't weigh much over 5 pounds.

Good luck with the tree removal.

Reminds me of Monday when I passed by this accident, driving the opposite way, about an hour after it happened. I lost 30 minutes to traffic just from the rubbernecking. Cars going the other way, behind the fallen tree, lost hours. Very sad about the doctor.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
It is extra ironic that a doctor from the John Muir Health System was killed by a tree.
