Actually, people who know the man say a lot of the same things the author does. Bush suffers from the same malady his father does, but worse, as he occasionally is inarticulate. Couple that, with the accent...We all know that people who don't always speak well, especially those with a more rural, southern accent, are inherently stupid.

Also, W loves to be misunderestimated. He's played off of that for much of his political career.

Is he the second coming of Einstein? No. But is he smarter than the average bear? Quite a bit.
