HOLY CARP!!!
Posted Image

well, we finally decided the time has come.

someone had posted here when i asked, when is it time, and the wise answer was you will know...

for the past months Leo lost all bowel and urine control and was exiled to being only outside.

but when i started seeing him in the morning lying in a puddle of poo and pee, and realised he had lost all his dignity, to not even be able to move away after soiling himself, the time had come.

he was a loving dog, not the smartest, but hard not lo love when he came begging for a pat on the head or a scratch behinds his ears.

so it goes

we take a small rest now from pets, maybe after the summer will consider a new one.

I'm sorry, bach. RIP Leo.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

my terrier DJ was born on the same year. I try to appreciate every moment I have with him because it's apparent he is probably on his last year. I am sorry for your loss Bach. Nice pic of Leo!

He was probably wondering why you left him an empty. He would have preferred a full bottle, I'm sure!

A small rest is warranted. Time to remember.

HOLY CARP!!!
thanks for all your warm words

we've had leo since he was 8 weeks old. purebred golden. with Scottish ancestry.

he outlived his statistics by far, most golden reach 12-13 max, but leo was quite sprite even at age 13. but the decline started at age 14, and the last half year has just been basically nursing home care.

the only real training he learned was sit and stay, but on the leash he was a puller, and loved to run. when off leash he just took off, and if someone left the door ajar by mistake he was out of there....

and in the winter, he was always on the lookout for mud puddles to lie down in, that was always a pain to get him blond again

once was hit by a car when he was about 4 years old, when he got loose from me. looking both ways before crossing was not his style, and he ended up with a fractured femur, which a canine orthopod,(yes there is such a profession) put a nail in to fix.

and he was a vacuum cleaner as far as food was concerned. anything edible was just sucked in.

like most dogs, he had jaws that could crack steak bones, but u could shove your hand down his mouth and all he would do is lick u non stop.

anyway...we have renamed our small yard, which was his home for the past half year, Leo's garden.

thanks again
