Back in the 1990's and the early 2000's, I purchased music CD's, like about eighty of them or so. Most of them I bought at a cheap price because a lot of them were used CD's. However, nowadays when I listen to music, I usually listen to them on my headphones that I have plugged into my computer. I listen to lots of different songs on Youtube. As a result, I haven't listened to my collection of CD's that much anymore. How about you? Do you listen to music CD's much? |

All the time in my car. Unfortunately new cars don’t have a CD player. You have to use a flash drive

I have a big stack of CDs. I have had the same one in my car player for at least 6 or 7 years Van Cliburn - Beethoven: Piano Sonatas Nos. 8, 14, 23 & 26, Opp. 13, 27:2, 57, 81a It is still the best, there is no reason to change it. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

I have some favorite cooking CDs. The kitchen has a great sound system. When I'm home alone cooking or baking, I crank it up pretty loud.

I still have a lot of CD's, but I have put them onto the computer. But, i still sometimes listen through the CD player or on the car CD player. But, a lot of times, I just listen through the computer. |

I remember talking to one of my surgeon friends (an audiophile) about the quality of sound of music (MP3s) on his computer vs compact discs. He told me that, at his age (he was in his 50s) he really couldn't tell which was better. Yeah, they sounded different, but which was better was hard to say. I've sold/donated almost all of my CDs. I have less than 50 or so left. Kluurs in 3...2...1... |

Actually I have a audio cassette player and a CD player in my car. I might have tried the audio cassette player once when I first got it 16+ years ago, just to see if it worked. It is still sitting there, waiting, ready to go. |

I still use my CD player at the gym. When I'm bench pressing 450 lbs. X 10 X 3, I like to listen to screaming rap at 100 db. It's just soothing. |

Have a few CDs - but actually, I find myself listening more to downloads and streaming. I'm ripping CDs - and seeing which software to use for keeping track of things. When purchasing, I typically prefer HiRes downloads to CDs. The record companies know that classical geeks are the people still goofy enough to purchase CDs - and thus aim some tempting products at us. We pay premiums for the downloads. Grrr... |

CDs? No, I don't need to follow every single technology fad. I'm happy with my collection of 78rpm records. |

Oh we would have killed to have wax cylinders. We would huddle around a small AM transistor listening to static noise broadcast from five thousand miles away in the hope of hearing a few notes played out of tune in a minor scale. Edited by bachophile, Apr 30 2018, 10:01 AM.

I bought some this year even. Eleven already. (Granted 10 were part of a set) But I rip them immediately. I never play them as a CD. FWIW, my wife’s car, new last May, still has a CD player. |
| In my defense, I was left unsupervised. | |
