http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/van-attack-victims-identified-1.4638102 Friday marks five days since a white rental van tore down Yonge Street in North York, killing 10 people and injuring 16. Police said two people who were injured left the scene Monday but spoke to officials later in the week. Suspect Alek Minassian, 25, has been charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder and 13 counts of attempted murder. He will be charged with three more counts of attempted murder at his next court appearance, Toronto police Insp. Bryan Bott said. At least 12 injured people remain in hospital, said Bott. Sunnybrook Hospital told CBC News on Friday that five of the 12 remain in critical condition, while three are in serious condition. Suspect Alek Minassian faces 10 counts of first-degree murder and 13 counts of attempted murder. At his next court appearance, police say he will be charged with three more counts of attempted murder. (LinkedIn) Police also provided more details about the route the van took down one of the city's busiest streets at Friday's news conference. This was based on analysis of video surveillance footage and witness accounts. Police have interviewed close to 200 witnesses and sorted through dozens of photos and video evidence submitted by the public. Minassian allegedly rented a panel van from Ryder before "directly" making his way to the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue around 1:30 p.m. ET, police say, and deliberately striking pedestrians. Here's how police say the horror on Yonge Street unfolded: At the busy intersection of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue, the driver mounted the curb and raced down the sidewalk on the west side of the street. The van veered off the sidewalk and crossed the median into the northbound lanes, about 850 metres south, at Churchill Avenue. It continued south on Yonge Street. Some 750 metres later, the driver swerved back into the southbound lanes before turning and heading west into an alleyway, before Elmhurst Avenue, until the vehicle got to Beecroft Road. The van travelled along Beecroft Road until it turned east on Sheppard Avenue that led the vehicle back onto the sidewalk of Yonge Street. Two block later, the driver turned west on Poyntz Avenue, where the vehicle stopped and a suspect was arrested by police. |

The suspect is only 25 years old, yet he's already ruined his life. Not to say that I feel sorry for him. |

White people are so lucky. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |
