HOLY CARP!!!
I am happy for that the bookstores are doing better. I am happy for the bookstore owners and employees.

Last time I was in a Barnes and Nobles, I noticed a big, new (to me) section with lots of Stat Wars, Lego, and DC/Marvel merchandise. As the article says, bookstores are selling more than books now.

I bought a hard copy book then, knowing full well that I could get it cheaper from Amazon.com (I checked) and I could wait for the free shipping, solely because I wanted to give that store some business to help it survive.

Well, I object. Bookstores as a whole are still in decline. For every one that has found a working model, probably 3 have shut down.

We have one of those new and seemingly thriving B&Ns here too. Sort of a Starbucks and a toy store and book store in one.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.
