If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
A first for me. I will see two different versions of the same musical in one day. The first was the high school whose theater program we support and tonight my daughter’s production of it!

Break a leg, Princess!

I've never seen the play - I'll make a point of looking out for it, should it come to Chicago.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

A great classic musical. Her alma mater really raises the bar. Best thing I have ever seen on that stage. And most of the incredibly talented leads were freshmen.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Interesting day. Both shows were excellent, sometimes in different areas, sometimes the same ones. The important factor they both got right was the fun of the show.

I’ve seen two professional performances.

I love that musical.

It’s a great show...every character lovable and a protagonist. Great songs and scenes.

When you have a connection to the cast and production, it makes their success so enjoyable. Congrats to both crews.

Fun stuff and I'm glad you enjoyed it. As Brenda said, connections make it even more enjoyable.

I forgot some other details..there was a lot of our family in both shows. In the first show at the Princess' alma mater they used some really neat men's hat boxes we gave them from my father's estate. We laughed when we saw them.

The Princess' show used some empty wine bottles from us, but the real kicker was they borrowed My Favorite Redhead's wedding dress, which was as beautiful onstage as the day we married.

Wow. Loaning the wedding dress was very generous. Keep in mind that used wedding dresses can be gotten at Goodwill, etc. Lots of dresses and other clothing can be gotten cheaply there.

Of course, I gave 80's clothes to my daughter for her performance in Footloose. We found more at Goodwill. Daughter was amazed at both sources. :lol2:
