Piano practice can be *really* good for you

This doesn't usually happen when I play piano, but I'm working on a particularly 'athletic' piece at the moment. My FitBit thinks my practice sessions are 'Outdoor Bike' exercise.

Notice in the middle was an actual workout - not cardio, weights - but still my heart rate average was lower during the workout than the piano practice.

I'm thinking that when I get this bad boy up to tempo my heart rate will be in the 'cardio' zone. :)

LOL, jon. Do you wear a wrist band type fitbit? I usually have mine in my pants pocket. It doesn't count arm movement perhaps. For walking, I have it attached to my shoe laces. I don't want to miss a single step. :)

Yeah, I’ve got the watch kind. It usually doesn’t misfire like this, but the part I’m practicing has the arm constantly jumping.

When your heart rate is up that much, then it's an accurate count to have it on the wrist instead of the shoe or pocket. Though your feet are likely moving, too, for the pedals.

Just think how you're gonna rock at chair-yoga at the senior center when you're an old geezer. Those little white-haired ladies are gonna be fighting over you!

Notice that Mik and George are off googling chair-yoga right now. They have high hopes of a bright senior future. ;)

Kids on the lawn are nothing but trouble.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

There's probably a fitbit exercise category for geezers.

Chasing kids off lawn.
Shaking fist at kids on lawn.
Running to the phone to call cops about kids on lawn.
Stomping feet while walking in the house complaining about kids on the lawn.
Running from window to window checking for kids on the lawn.
