Seems far fetched even for mainland China ... would wait for collaboration from other credible sources. On pop culture front, this also reminds me of an Orville episode titled “Majority Rules.” |

The BBC in 2015: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-34592186 Wired in 2017: https://www.wired.com/story/age-of-social-credit/ CNET this week: https://www.cnet.com/news/china-turns-to-tech-to-monitor-shame-and-rate-citizens/ Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Credit_System The link was from CBS - do you find them not credible? |

Sounds like a scheme to extremely vet potential mass murderers. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

Thanks, did not see the links provided by CBS because I did not click into the CBS page, just read what you quoted. While there is such a thing as "reputation" in societies, big data driven quantification of such is a new frontier. And the state-sponsored aspect of it is worrisome. |

I have heard about this before, and it is kind of scary. Probably in one of the links, but I have hear that part of the score is who you are your friends. So, if you have many friends that have low scores, this will cause your score to go down. So, to avoid this, you stop being friends with them (on Facebook, WeChat, Weibo, etc.). This could cause the people with lower scores to be more isolated. |

Yes, I read about this several years ago. It would be easy to do it here as well, if it were to be allowed to happen. "Sorry, you are denied everything and anything due to your membership in TNCR." Bummer. |

That kind of sounds like the MeowMeowBeenz episode in Community. Funny on TV but scary when it's real life. |

New professions cropping up soon. Credit repair, credit optimization, credit contesting, credit guru, credit harmony, living with credit, life after credit. Buy this and improve your credit, zip codes, schools, dating sites etc with the best credit. How will this impact my credit will be what people think about every three seconds go forward. The ultimate vacation will be credit lowering places where your credit won’t be impacted. |

Depends on whether the credit fixing/enhancement/optimization industry can convince the power that be that the retentive of such services would not itself be a demerit in the credit assessment system. |
