Harry Anderson, the actor best known for playing an off-the-wall judge working the night shift of a Manhattan court room in the televised comedy series "Night Court," has been found dead in his North Carolina home.

Anderson was 65.

A statement from the Asheville Police Department said officers responded to a call from Anderson's home early Monday and found him dead. The statement said foul play is not suspected.

He also appeared on the series "Tales From The Crypt."

Anderson is survived by two children from his first marriage to Leslie Pollack, and by his current wife Elizabeth Morgan.

Saw that. Sad.

RIP Mr. Anderson
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

He was a great magician, don't forget.

RIP, until you reappear and fool us all, Harry!

Early episodes of Night Court were great, then it went severely downhill IMO. Started around the same time as Cheers, as I recall watching both on the same nights.

Yep. I have fond memories of watching it with my dad on Thursday nights.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

Anderson started as a recurring character on Cheers as Harry the Hat, a flim-flam artist...
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

I haven't seen an episode of Night Court in years. But I liked it back in the day.

65 is a young age to pass away. My sympathies to his family and to all who was a part of his life.
