It’s mid April already.

Time to settle on a date for the piano party.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

So no responses.

Is no one interested in having a piano party?

I’m actually willing to fly out for it, for realz, not like ‘maybe’, but really as in buy-the-ticker-right-away-once-the-date-is-set.

Is anyone game?
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

What time frame were you thinking of?

Finally
I'd love to host, but, because of logistical issues, I can't.

However, my calendar is wide open other than 11 days in July.

This is probably way too late for you guys, but it is likely that I'll make a trip to Boston from Nov 4 to Nov 9. Anything around those days and I'd come.

Another piano party that is probably going to happen is on June 8 in Tokyo. Number of TNCR members who will attend so far is: 1 :lol2:

You better have mastered the kazoo/orchestra part by then. We've been very patient.

Jon says you are barely capable of playing the Fröhlicher Landmann without having to stop mid performance to work it through - and there is no way you could play piano and kazoo/orchestra of a concerto. I said, "give him a chance."

Just learn the kazoo solo for Uriah Heap's, "The Magician's Birthday". You will be the hit of the party.

Ha!

Since you mention Fröhlicher Landmann, I have actually developed it into a version for piano and kazoo. This is
the preliminary score.

I'll note that I would like to host some time in the future. I want the first floor bathroom done before we do that.

If I came, would I have to actually listen to everybody play? I mean, I spend every day of my working life listening to a bunch of wannabe hacks butchering Chopin and Debussy. It's not exactly how I want to spend my time off! Could I just sit there with my headphones on and listen to somebody that actually knows how to play the song and nod appreciatively?
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

How about a compromise - you have to listen but you don't have to pretend it's good.

You don't have to listen if I play. As a matter of fact, a large distraction at that time would be appreciated.

If I were the host, I would say yes, you are free to listen or not listen as you wish. Life’s too short to listen to bad music or feign interest in boring conversation. It’s really pointless to “pay attention” just to be polite when we have the technology to let you access, on demand at anytime, the best the world has to offer on just about anything.
