The home I posted is over 11,000 sqft.

Isn't that about the size of some of those land grants? :lol2:

Yeah, Friday, but that is Palos Verdes, above the smog, ocean views and breezes. Stayed there a few weeks. Nice.

Yeah, you could sell, but then how does your location affect your life?

Then again, here's what a little under that will buy you here.

Fugly house. I wouldn't give you half of half of what they think it's worth.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

OK, I'm in for $50, even $55 if that's what it takes.

Wow. Taxes are surprisingly low, but, I live in suburban Chicago...

The house we sold in 2013 had taxes that were twice that.

Sue, where you live is stunning! Is it pretty touristy?

I go running a little past Potomac, MD, and I frequently pass this modest-looking house amongst the mansions, which has been for sale. Looked it up, and itīs not as modest as I had assumed.

yeah, it can get pretty touristy, but probably not as bad as some places. You have to take a ferry, not much public transport, inconvenient road layout, no camping or hotels - just pricey b&bs. Still, lots of day trippers.

That lot in your link must be fabulous.

Nope, but it's in Potomac, MD. 20854 makes 90210 look like paupers.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

That would be 3 million here easy. In Toronto probably more like 10 million.

Both Vancouver and Toronto have gotten really stupid with house prices lately. Lots of foreign investments have driven the prices skyward. I can't speak for Toronto, but here in Vancouver it's a hot topic. Many people giving up and just moving away.

Yup, same here. And I’m only 45 min from Toronto, so a lot of people from Toronto are moving here, which is driving our market up as well.

Sorry, didn't mean to be mendacious (ha, like that word?). I'm used to saying SoCal in TNCR.

Like others here, I just wanted to show the insanity of it all; that $1M would get you a small sloping parcel of dirt in my neck of the woods. I think it's laughable and ludicrous (is that redundant?) that my little rinky dinky house is worth what people say it's worth.
