I understand that people like one candidate over the other (or one party over the other).

But, what I think a lot of people are missing (or maybe it is just my own naive) is that realistically, things just do not change that much under one party or the other. USA, whether intentional or not, pretty much stays in the middle.

now, I know people will argue the President Trump is moving USA to one side, or President Obama moved the US to another side, etc.

But, I believe that when people do a look at their lives, and look at March 18, 2011 and compare it to March 18, 2018, is it really that different?? And, if it is different, is it really because of the President? I kind of doubt it. Yes, individual circumstances may have changed (economic, relationship, etc etc), but most of those differences are not because of the President, but because of the world changes, in which the President has a (relatively) minor effect.

The fact that someone got married/divorced, found a new girlfriend/boyfriend, new job, graduated school, retired, had a baby, took a montage on their house, paid off a loan, etc etc etc probably probably would have happened if Mitt Rommey would have been elected President. Probably would have happened if Hillary Clinton would have been elected.

I am not saying that the President has no influence, but I think it is way over done, and it is more of a mental influence than a physical influence.

When President Bush was elected, the Democrats were saying that the world was going to end. Did it?? NO. Was some of the thing that occurred (good and bad) during his president ONLY due to him? Probably, but only a small amount.

When President Obama was elected, the Republicans were saying that the world was going to end. Did it?? NO. Was some of the thing that occurred (good and bad) during his president ONLY due to him? Probably, but only a small amount.

Is the President important? Of course he is!!!!!!! But I think we "overstate" his importance on our lives (regardless of which party you follow).

(Okay - time to get off my box now!! LOL)
