Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

:lol2: I can relate. I like tofu too, prepared well in the right dish.

I used it for the first time just last week, replacing shrimp in a stir fry recipe I make.

It was good.

I’m actually cutting way back on meat after a nasty gout outbreak I had last month. Especially beef and shellfish.

Ouch.

I did not know those two foods contributed to the acid buildup.

You had gout? I thought that was only for old farts. You're too young for that.

I also did not know seafood could cause it. That stinks.

Mmmmmmm, pie!
I know a woman who loves tofu. She's every bit of 450 pounds, and that's after gastric bypass surgery..

She'll eat a ten pound ham, a number 10 can of beans, half dozen boiled eggs, and a slab of tofu, then tell you she "had a light lunch, mostly just some tofu."

Had it first in my 30s. But at least back then I earned it. Now it may be related to my meds.

The diet restrictions are draconian - they’ll say avoid meat, fish, poultry, and alcohol. My first reaction was “can’t you guys just amputate my foot?”

But of the list, shellfish and beef are worse than poultry and scale fish. I used to eat some sort of meat or fish with maybe 12 of my meals a week, now I’ve cut it down to about 3 or 4, and cut out beef and shell fish altogether. For now at least.

And I thought shellfish was the least likely to cause a problem, about like fish.

That list is rather limiting. You're doing well to meet those restrictions. Good job!

My father has gout and he would and does respect the vegan’s wishes.

He takes allopurinol, daily I think. I became aware of his gout probably 30+ years ago.

He may know what tofu is if it is a New York Times crossword puzzle word.
