What's the size of your phone's display?

HOLY CARP!!!
I ordered a new phone today and was amazed that there are barely any phones in the compact size I prefer on the market.

Why does everyone want a huge screen these days? If I want a large screen, I'll take a tablet, or my laptop connected to two 30 inch displays. For me it's important that I can put the phone in my pocket without it being annoying.

Now I wonder what kinds of phones TNCR folks have.

iPhone 8. Would want smaller if not for my eyes. Bigger would be way too unwieldy.

Having owned a 4S, 5S, 6S and now 8, I can say that 4.7 inches is the sweet spot for size. Fits in your pocket, enables easy (enough) web browsing and reading of ebooks. It's also possible to enable a zoom function for those of us who are presbyopic.

Yeah, if they made a full featured version the size of the 5 Iíd buy it. The 7 only barely and obnoxiously fits in my pocket.

It is kind of funny, the phones keep getting bigger and bigger. Almost like there is no difference between the biggest ones and an iPad (or similar type of pad).

Maybe the iPad can start to become smaller. LOL

I use the iPad for things that need a bigger screen.

This makes it easier to have a smaller iPhone.

I like smaller phones because I carry them in my pocket. Blackberries were even better in that respect.

I don't care enough to make the determination. The information is of no value to me to know and i can find out whenever I want. Whatever the smaller one was.

Yes, Apple makes some very good small phones.

But if you look at Android, there's very little selection. I've now bought a Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact. That's almost the only modern Android phone with a screen size smaller than 5 inches.

That would be the SE. Thats what I had before, and I gave it to my friend when I got the 7 plus. Whenever I hold her phone now I canít believe I ever had a phone that small, it doesnít even feel real.

I donít find that to be the case with my 7 Plus, but thereís the iPhone 8 which is about halfway between the size of an SE and any of the plus models.

Thereís also the iPhone X, which is considerably smaller than the 6S/7/8 Plus, but the screen is actually larger because there is no home button and no edges, the screen takes up 100% of the face of the phone.

I like the X, but not for the price/features . We just bought The Princess a 7 for Christmas. Even the 8 did not have any features we thought worth paying for. Mostly she wanted a smaller phone with maximum GB.
