HOLY CARP!!!
Some good points, but I disagree with the hypothesis that it's only women who want to have and raise families. It's not a price a man pays for access to sex. It's more like killing two birds with the same stone.

You’re such a romantic, Klaus.

Along the lines of the thread starter...The son of a friend complains about the lack of good women. He's not college educated, but he's a welder off shore on a rig and makes good money.

He said when he was in his early to mid-twenties and starting to seriously date, the girls didn't want a church-going paw-paw. They wanted a bad boy or a "project" they could make into what they wanted. Or a lot of the desirable girls were already in committed relationships.

Now, he's in his early thirties. A lot of those girls that barely gave him a second look, think he's the best thing since sliced bread. They've broken up or divorced those first guys, usually have children and are desperately looking for a steady guy with a decent income. And he said half of those gals were on psych medicines of one kind or another.

That's not what he wanted. Good news is I think he has found the right one. The oil field guy and the pharmacist...Guess there is a lid for every pot, if you look long enough. Should make an interesting couple.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Yep. Most folks are not very good about picking people that are good for them. I was lucky, but then I, like your friend's son, did not marry until my mid-thirties.

Wit and humor is embedded in German Romanticism.

Oddly enough so is scatology.

If you're talking Germanic history, a lot of that was due to the age of the average adult. Poop jokes have always been in with 19 to 25-year-olds.
I cite irreconcilable differences.
