Just got the newsletter from the medical school from which I graduated.

Two deaths from my class:

1) Ed, who stood up at my (first) wedding.
2) Charles, my roommate for our freshman and sophomore years.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Sorry to hear about your friends.

And getting older is better than not getting older.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Sorry to hear about your friends.

And getting older is better than not getting older.

Thanks. And that's a good observation.

I hadn't seen either one since we graduated. Nevertheless, it's sad and disturbing.

Sorry, George. One of my friends (30+ years) passed away yesterday. He *just* retired from the National Symphony....never got a chance to really enjoy a lot of free time. SUCKS.

I am the same age at which Ed and Charles died, and I've been retired for almost a year; part time with no call for 2 years. The last 3 years have been wonderful, and I'm enjoying the hell out of them. More to come, of course.

Sorry to hear that, man. :( My parents share stories like that now with me. I think news like that weighs on them quite a bit also. (How could they not?)

It used to be that I was at the age where weddings were the common update I'd receive. This year and last, though, have brought in the first few divorces. I must be getting older, too.
I cite irreconcilable differences.
