Hellooooo, September! We've been waiting for you! This is the off-ramp from the heat,
the time that summer punches her pillow and nestles down to fall asleep for the year...
This is the time that week by week, the sunlight mellows and falls more sweetly across the
land, the sky turns to a piercing blue, and the fields turn golden with the harvest.
It will soon be time for crisp, foggy mornings, shorter afternoons of generous warmth, and
longer, cooler nights; time for a cozy fireplace, a switch to Scotch or Bordeaux, and time to
pile the beds with the old and well-loved quilts. Even the animals feel it, and they are
busy and active, as autumn begins to breathe softly through the woods.
Yes, after the scorched sky and jarring, glaring heat of the summer, autumn slips
in through the side door and gently butters itself over everything like a soothing balm.

Helloooo, September! Welcome! We've missed you so...

HOLY CARP!!!
Very nice indeed. That is the September of my dreams, my childhood (prairie days). Even in the normal grey and soggy days that are the norm here on the coast, it is still my favourite time of year. New beginnings.

Cheers
Yes, I'm always so ready for September when it comes. Less so this year with the mild August we had.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.
