Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Bad down at Cameron Parish, parts of Lake Charles ain't too spiffy, but nothing like Port Arthur or Beaumont, just over in Texas. Leesville got a good dunking, as did Natchitoches, but no bad flooding.

I only got 6 inches and some wind. Since the electric folks had cleared the lines a few weeks back, I never lost juice, although guys down the road were out for a day. My son in Austin probably got more than i did.

Just waiting to see what Irma does now....I just as soon she stay away. Problem with two hurricanes in a fairly short time frame, is the durn ground gets soaked with the first one and it doesn't take near as much wind to drop trees like scattering pick-up sticks on the second one. Plus, the drainage is still pretty full and it doesn't take as much water to cause flooding.

Could you imagine if the guys over in Texas picked up another six inches or so....would be very bad news...

Harvey was a really weird storm when it came through Louisiana. Usually, the bad side is on the East. Not Harvey...

The leftover Harvey is passing through here today.

Mostly just drizzle and little wind, with the coldest temperatures since the spring.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
We have remnants today and yesterday. Cold as hell for this time of year.
