Heh. "Steve 'n' Seagulls"

And no, these guys aren't a bunch of coonasses from Jollyland. They're Finnish.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

One of the trends in bluegrass. I listen to more bluegrass than I used to, because so much country sucks nowadays.

Check out YouTube for a group named Iron Horse. They do some very good covers of Crazy Train and Rocket Man, among others.

Need Renauda for this discussion, as he's the bluegrass musician here...Concerning the Finnish group, I don't know how you classify that type of bluegrass that includes an accordion.

You should be grateful I didn't link the David Lee Roth bluegrass version of "Jump." :lol2:

Gotta admit, that cover of Thunderstruck is pretty good, nevertheless (I liked it more than the cover of "You shook me...").

They do some Maiden, too.

I can't tell if it's really hilarious or really awesome.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
I would say they are very good arrangers.

I would say it's Finnish humour bluegrass style. Although there were some studio recordings back in the late '60's or early '70's with an organ backing Bill Monroe on some of his gospel type bluegrass tunes, can't say I ever associated the accordion with the genre. Bear in mind though, that Bill Monroe himself never saw a place for the Dobro guitar as he called it, in the future of bluegrass either.

Anyways, covers like this have been done by bluegrass artists for a long time. The Country Gentlemen and Seldom Scene were doing it back in the '60's and '70's. About 15 years ago a group call Luther Wright and the Wrongs recorded Pink Floyd's The Wall bluegrass style.

Sometimes these covers of rock tunes work, other times not so much.

Absolutely true! And I don't think there's a weak player out of a single one of them.

How can you tell if someone is good at playing accordion?
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

Same way you can tell if someone's good at the bagpipes. Who the hell knows? :leaving:
