Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Cheers
The results at the end were more thoughtful than I would have expected. I think Forrest is a reasonable candidate for the top slot though Taney would probably have been my choice. Columbus and "Silent Sam" got far more votes than I would have liked. (As did many others)
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
I think the point that should be taken here is that there is nowhere to stop if we wish to hold historical figures to today's standards. They lived in a very different world. By all means, teach the full truth honestly, but running around tearing down statues is pointless.

You want to fix the problem?

1. Get an education
2. Get a job
3. Get married
4. Come home every night

Tearing down statues only makes the problem worse.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy
