Dems continually wonder what they have to do to be elected to state-wide or national office. Here's a clue...Louisiana voted 58.1% for Trump, but also elected a Democrat as governor.

When John Bell Edwards was asked about the Federal response to Harvey, he basically said that Trump had called him twice, that he had spoken with the top officials at FEMA and that the Feds were doing everything asked of them. He gave a short, honest answer to a simple question.

The problem with a lot of Dems and Dem politicians is that:

1. They have forgotten about the plight of the middle class, particularly blue collar folks, while exaggerating the plight of the lower socio-economic classes.
2. They have played identity politics to the hilt, constantly seeking heretofore unknown rights for ever-narrowing classes of people.
3. They won't admit the Truth, if it's not politically expedient. Yes, I realize this is true on both sides of the aisle, but TDS is so bad among many Dem leaders, they never give credit where credit is due.
4. Adherence to national politics is killing off guys at the local level. The national party has to give their guys some wiggle room without beating them up about every little thing.
5. They keep using the same old playbook of policies, when a lot of the American people realize these policies have failed.
6. Most of America is not California. Don't expect us to act that way.
7, Quit telling us what all is wrong with us, and occasionally tell us what is right with us.

Now, the above list is not all-inclusive of Dem problems and some of those statements could apply to the other side of the aisle as well.

But the Dem bench is looking mighty thin for 2020, and they need to find a solution, now. Or they will come at us in the same old way, and we will kill them in the same old way (politically speaking, of course).
The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States.- George Soros

Look how easily a non-politician took the whitehouse.

He was occasionally impolite which drove some people crazy but he still won because he was not a career politician (and he was especially not Ms. Clinton).

Imagine if there was a polite non-politician out there somewhere. They could rule the world!

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy
