I believe it. LOL

But, it is the same with anything people become used to. It is not only cell phone. Someone who always has a gun with them - they would feel anxious if they did not have it. Kids with stuffy animals. They do not have it, they become anxious.

Anything that is a part of our life causes anxious if it is not there. It is another question if it is good that cell phones have become such a big part of our lifes. :)

If you use your cell for work, that's another reason to need to keep it handy.

ZOOOOOM!
I have two sets of co-workers: 20-somethings and 40-somethings. And, we have elevators here.

The 20-somethings do not know how to talk to you for that span of time. And they'll think nothing of interrupting you by reaching into their pockets and checking their damn phone while you're talking. My 40-something co-workers are always cordial and have far superior social skills.

But they have no idea how social media works, including LinkedIn and other sites that can potentially help in the job market. The Millenials do.

So, look, the world is changing. We're still sussing out what the social protocol should be for these devices, but they're here and they've changed society in irreversible ways. Saying "those damn Millenials" misses the point. And it comes from exactly the same kind of mentality that's keeping some of the Red states woefully behind.

During the Revolution, a huge portion of Washington's army couldn't read or write, but just about all of them knew how to sew. We've moved on and will continue to do so, with or without the naysaying stragglers.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

The question is, are millenials more productive than the 40-somethings?

Social media is great, but at the job site it's only good if it enhances productivity.

Red states woefully behind.

The battle between yankee hospitality and southern ingenuity has been going on for a long time.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

For a lot of Millenials, Social Media is their job.

A lot of successful companies have positioned themselves so that they're a media company first, and they're a seller of X second. This includes real estate, local service industries, retail, etc. It doesn't work for everybody, but it's a popular strategy among many. When you position yourself that way, you necessarily need full-time Social Media employees. And a lot of them are Millenials because they finished college or their first jobs right at the time when this was getting popular.

Oh and P.S., some of these people work their ass off. Our social media person works 24/7/365, nights, holidays, Armageddon or otherwise.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

There's little point complaining about young people being different from old people. It's like living in Scotland and moaning about the weather.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?
