Worth reading, just getting through it without skimming is proof the author may be on to something. |

Good article. We already have made a reduction in time spent on the media news. We have better ways to spend time, such as digging in the yard.

I've cut way down. Yeah, I post a good many links, but I don't read three or four articles on the same thing or just sit on one news site. And the Trump stuff has gotten so silly, it's not worth the effort to wade through. |

The obsession with Trump is really good for the media but the analogy of pure refined sugar and diabetes of the brain is spot on. I think it is truly doing a lot of damage to people. |

I agree with you. This message is not original with this author, but it can stand to be said more than once. |

I think this is an excellent article, hope everyone takes the time to read it. Personally, I have also backed way off on "news" whether cable or print. The mute button on my remote is almost always on, when the TV is on in my office. I wish this article were required reading for discussion at the high school or maybe even college level, where it is touted that "critical thinking" is taught. Also, have high school and college kids re-read the article, and change the words and related words where appropriate to "that hand-held device that seems glued to your hand." |

Yeah, I have backed off a lot too. Sick of it. There's not an honest piece of journalism in a hundred. I seek information, not opinion. Opinions I can get here from people I at least like. |
