Why I can't watch any TV Series on Netflix, On Demand, or Amazon Prime

Two years ago, I started watching Man in the High Castle on Amazon Prime. M&M's comes downstairs midway during the first episode and after I explain what's going on she decides that she wants to watch with me. I don't mind, I enjoy having us watch shows together. Four episodes in, however, she's not as interested, so we find another show to watch together. A week later and she comes home to find me watching episode 5 and gets upset because that was a show we were watching together. So I invite her to watch, and I will rewind... She asks if we can watch ********** instead. That's the last that I have seen of that show.

This has happened with countless shows. The Expanse, Lost, House of Cards, Breaking Bad, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones...

Two nights ago, I started watching Game of Thrones Season 1. On the 3rd episode she came home and sat down. She stated that she didn't think that she was going to like this show, but she still wanted to know what was going on. I explained, and she watched the rest of the episode. Last night, after dinner she suggests we go watch a Game of Thrones episode. I looked at her and said no. We have so many series we started and never finished, this was going to be something that I watched during my free time, as I didn't want to feel guilty for watching it when I wanted. In the meantime, we could go back and finish any of the dozen other shows we have yet to finish together. I received the look. Guess what show I won't be finishing?

The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments
and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism.

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.

What are your options?
Get a mistress, a divorce, a new wife with more compatible TV viewing habit?
Or endure for as long as you both shall live?

Somebody better delete this thread.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Let her pick the show.

We're on the 6th season of Suits. I don't hate it.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Let her ppick the show does not work. One can only take so many episodes of Say Yes To The Dress. When my daughter is around that is what they watch together.

No, a degree of peasant cunning is required here. You have to make her feel quilty for depriving you of your entertainment choices. You might suggest other things she might do when bored to increase your viewing pleasure, back rubs, foot massages, etc. Then maybe Breaking Bad will seem much more interesting.

That Randy has such a great eye.

I don't think they should allow the father of the bride in there, he never helps.

Some mothers think it is all about them.

My advice would be to present an alternative that is much less acceptable for her, and then what you really want suddenly looks good in comparison. For my wife, for instance, this works every time with "Apocalypse now", or "The Dirty Dozen".

I rug hook during shows. :lol2: I let hubby or daughter choose the program, because I am not very picky.

Sounds like you need a schedule for who selects, or a coin toss.
