If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Have to say I don't care much for Georgetown unless I want to PAR-TAY! Too many college age shortly after age.

HOLY CARP!!!
Is there any reason for the very strange boarding of trains? I've now waited for 35min in a pointless queue in front of the platform. Why don't they just let us enter the damn platform whenever we want?

Make that 60 min. And they don't even know why the train is delayed and when it will arrive. Even at its worst, Deutsche Bahn wouldn't manage to screw up so badly.

I can now see why trains aren't more popular here.

Shortstop
I've been living here since 1979. I've worked all around the city, downtown and suburbs in MD and VA. I have given dozens, maybe hundreds of tours around the Mall.

In almost 38 years I have taken the Metro once. Just once, that's enough.

I've ridden other subways hundreds of times. I didn't own a car living in Boston and took the subway everywhere. I've ridden the subway many times in NY and London. But not the DC Metro.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Thanks, I'll remove that from my list too.

Cheers
Yeah, they do corral people at the top of the stairs above the platform. It's stupid. That said, the Acela is rarely late in my experience. I've never tried the non express trains.

The D.C. Metro is fine. Sunday service is a little light. Makes you feel like you're in Europe or something.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.
