They do care for you, they just don't care for the infant you elected to represent you.

The representatives go to Congress.

Mr. Trump's is more of an administrative position.

So far he seems to understand that better than several recent presidents.

Let's hope he continues to do the job.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

I can't imagine he would ever do that. Why would he?

Dunning Kruger leading to poor policy decisions, favouring theatricality over thought leading to poor policy. Favouring praising particularly from a small subset of the population over other concerns leading to poor policy.

Having pulled the US out of a multinational agreement to try to avoid damaging the environment and submitted a health care bill that will benefit the minority with the least need at the expense of those with the most he's off to a flying start.

We can only hope he doesnt start any wars and the institutions that protect people survive him long enough for your countrymen to come to their senses.

Such sentiments are shared by people across the world it seems, my Italian girlfriend's cardiologist mother commented the other day that 'we all hope he dies' or something along those lines. My English aunt who is simultaneously the most cultured and the most empathetic human being I've ever come across suggested something similar.

There is of course a big difference between such utterances and acts of physical violence. The latter requires both opportunity and overriding very powerful behavioral norms. The attack on the republicans clearly involved a certain amount crazy in addition to any political considerations.
To think that Trump's death would help, is to think that Trump is special. In what way is he special? I know people think he's an idiot and all that. But how is he so different in what he wants to accomplish than whatever imbecile who would replace him?

History has decided that Hitler was really good at oratory. I'm pretty sure that that's not Trump's super power. Why would the world be a better place with Trump-replacement than it is with Trump?
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

"It's simply not how things are done" is an argument whose power to influence may be being underestimated.

The nihilist streak, obviously. And the temperament.

PS - Mike Pence for President!

I'm pretty sure that that's not Trump's super power.

His super power is not being a politician at the right place at the right time.

Mr. Trump is the manifestation of the will of the US voters.

If it wasn't him it would be someone else.

It's still the economy stupid.

The swamp must be drained and the debt must be controlled.

Yes, especially the voters from the parts of the electoral map that counts more in the electoral college on a per voter basis. It still counts, though. It's one of the Constitution's ways of saying "don't ignore the less populous states."

I wouldn't, as I already fear political violence in our society. But if he died of a heart attack I would be pleased. Relieved is probably a better word.

Funny, you don't look like a conservative. With Pence, you are going to get somebody definitely conservative, moreso than Trump.

I'll concede that the deceased shooter probably thought he was making a valid political statement in his actions. The fact is though he was not making any sort of political statement coherent or otherwise. He simply engaged in a mindless criminal act that ought not elicit any type of social response other than unanimous condemnation from all sides.

BTW, I do understand and pretty much agree with what Cats wrote above on the matter.
Me too. Anybody who tries to shoot people (with a very few exception) has some sort of mental problem. We was plain crazy. It does not excuse what he did, but as Catseye said, his brain could have decided that some other group was the part of his craziness.

Us, as normal people, cannot understand how someone could be like that.
