So it is in fact not a problem with financing. Could it be....cultural perhaps? Just sayin'... |

There is definitely a cultural part to it. The schools and the teachers cannot be a substitute for parents. It is very very sad for the kids who go home to no parents to help them with homework, encourage them, follow up with the school on missed assignments, etc. The situation will unfortunately repeat itself with their kids. Smarter people than I have tried to solve it and no real answers yet. (I don't agree with the writers statement that the main cause of the problem is the way reading is taught. The problem is much bigger than that - changing the style of how reading is taught is not a magic pill to fix things.) I believe that domanixal is a teacher. I would be interested to hear her thoughts on this. |

I cannot help but wonder - Bill Cosby is one of the few prominent members of the black community that has stood up and called this out. Now look where he is. I do not hold him blameless here but I cannot help but wonder what really went on behind the scenes in dredging all this up. |

WARNING - Politically incorrect: After generations of this, where some have moved up and moved on, are the ones that are left in these neighborhoods breeding children with less innate intelligence vs. the ones who have left? |

The SJWs will get right on that. |
| As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good? | |

Is it better to make those who stayed smarter or those who left dumber? As long as they are all equal in the end, that is what matters. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

Yes, politically incorrect, shame on you. But, I'll double-down on your politically incorrect, and offer just a bit of an edit to your generalization, and yes, I say this with appropriate shame for even thinking something like this:
