Ignore CNN's editorial, just hit "play" and listen to the recording of the cabinet meeting for yourself:

It sounded like he asked his cabinet to introduce themselves to a visiting group. At least that is what he said in the beginning.

So his staff introduced themselves to the visitors, then the visitors left and the meeting began off camera.

Then some cnn hack tried to make it sound like the whole meeting was the cabinet introducing themselves to the president.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Could a Cabinet job in the Trump Admin be so rewarding that you'd publicly slurp your narcissist boss to keep it?
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

The "visitors" were reporters -- who could be presumed by now to have familiarized themselves with the Cabinet.

And presumption is all this is. What do you expect them to do? Hold a substantive meeting in front of a hostile press corps?

I have no expectations one way or another. But having them introduce themselves to a body of reporters who already know very well who they are, and also (not incidentally) lard their intros with fulsome praise for Trump, seems bizarre.

If you want to get picky about it .

They were not all reporters.

And as Mr. Trump said in his introduction, everybody didn't know everybody.

Then I could ask, why have strangers visit a meeting of the Cabinet in the first place? Not to mention the first Cabinet meeting?

Oh, never mind. It doesn't matter. This is just SSDD in the Trump Administration.

Have you been watching cnn?

Good God, how pathetic one has to be to piss and moan over something so damned trivial. Get a f*cking grip.

Agreed. It is reason enough for the administration not to do anything substantive in front of them

I agree that it is trivial, and does not mean anything. But, it is also pretty funny. I am pretty sure everyone here has heard the term - "suck up to boss". Just not something I would expect from cabinet members.

As Jon said, is the job that great that they feel the need to act like that?

Excuse me, but do you think those introductions were merely for the reporters? Or just possible, just might those introductions been of a more general nature, allowing the crews to use the footage as they needed.

Again, excuse me, but where was all this horse hockey when Obama was driving the country into the ground?

The man could stand at the podium like a Roman caesar reviewing the Legion, producing flowery words and damn little else and y'all would have callouses on your knees from sucking his penis. Sumbitch didn't even have to lie and tell you it was chocolate flavored, for y'all to swallow that BS to the last drop.

There was some of this horse hockey here.

Look for replies that included the word derangement.

If I was in his shoes, where nothing positive I had accomplished got reported, where I was faced with a deranged democrat party more interested in getting even than in thinking about our nation, a press that lies and distorts and functions as the propaganda arm of the democrat party, a small but loud group of citizens who are either too mentally weak to be able to tell sh!t from shinola, or are brain dead from drinking leftwing koolaid, where *everything* gets twisted into a negative, lies pass for "news", I would likely do the same thing Trump and his cabinet did - take the opportunity to put a room full of reporters who were going to alter and twist the meeting in every little way possible to do as much damage as they could, where their cameras were rolling and they had no choice but to air what was happening because it was live....

And let each and every person in the cabinet to say things that the press would never report on their own.

I am actually surprised that those of you on the left appear to not be capable of figuring that out.

You people are so cynical.

My guess is that Mr. Trump's cabinet are trying to help build up his self-confidence by saying nice things about him. I know from personal experience that the downside of being incredibly intelligent and hugely successful is that one can be riddled with large amounts of totally unjustified self-doubt.

Oh, gosh, John. I hate to hear you feel that way. If it's any comfort I think it's completely justified. ^_^
