I admit the article was confusing, as I was trying to figure out what the point is.

For Ax, I found this in the comments:
Quote:

Progressive minded people, ask yourself, do you want to be morally superior to everyone, or do you want to win congressional, senate, and presidential elections? Because the two are becoming more mutually exclusive every time you focus attention on ridiculous stories like these.

I would like to take a moment to apologize to the forum for my insensitive cultural appropriations earlier this week:

I ate pizza.
I listened to Beethoven.
Sure there are many more, but they don't come to mind at the moment.

There are so many cultural practices that were once part of the fabric of the melting pot that have become off limits.

If the stereotype of the Irish as drunken brawlers ever becomes offensive I think then we'll know the end of the world is at hand.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Nobody gets it. It's just SJWw earning some SJW cred by being outraged on behalf of others. That's the most righteous sort of outrage and as a bonus, the others on who's behalf you feel it, don't actually need to exist. C.f the Washington Redskins outrage.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

I don't, either, and I don't intend to. And anyone presuming to accuse me of this silly sh!t will get back a reply that is short, unambiguous and, depending on my mood of the moment, culturally and appropriately profane.

What they deem an evil, 'cultural appropriation', is the story of mankind. Especially learning to do things by watching someone else. They don't want diversity, but Balkanization of the planet.

I don't understand how multiculturalism can be good and cultural appropriation bad at the same time.

this.

ffs, indeed. I was wondering when this nonsense would hit the food aisles. A whole lot of world class chefs made it their mission to travel to other countries, explore other cultures - foods, flavours, techniques....and then incorporate that learning into the delicious meals we like to eat. Now we shouldn't do that? ffs.

Hope big brother (or Atwood's "eye", if you prefer) wasn't watching me this week. I've made curry, fajitas, and meatballs and spaghetti this week. Guess I should be sticking to rouladen and dumplings.

Oh, and I ordered a Rick Bayless cookbook for the library. I think I'll put that puppy on display today.
