..... those students were impolite.

I think this is so true. There arepeople I dont agree with (maybe even some here................... :D), but it is important to try and listen and understand their position and thoughts. By doing that, it does not mean that you agree with them, but maybe you will learn something from them.

I'd roll my eyes if my son did it. But that's about it.

Seriously? That's all you would do?

No voicing your thoughts? No questioning of motives? Nothing but an eye roll?

If my kid did that, I would have plenty to say.

#1. "If you knew you were going to do this, why didn't you tell us and save us the hassle of having to come to all the way to South Bend to see nothing?!?"

Actually I'm not even sure I'd roll my eyes. All they did was walk out, right? Nothing wrong with that, in my mind it's the right kind of protest. Compare that with trying to prevent him from speaking or trying to get the university to cancel, which are both so common these days. That would elicit a very different reaction from me.

IMO, this is a big nothingburger.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

If they were so dead set against the guy, just don't show up.

Don't grandstand to make some useless statement which shows how little class you have...

As bad as I cannot stand Hillary Clinton, if she had been the speaker at my children's college graduation and my kids had walked out, there would be hell to pay. You don't agree with the woman? You don't like her? Fine. Now sit down, shut up and respect the position and the occasion, if nothing else.

If your children went to Wellesley College that could have happened.

During the speech Ms. Clinton mentioned that Mr. Nixon had been impeached.

He was, of course, not impeached, but her husband was. She didn't mention that.

Some people were wondering why she dressed up as Monica Lewinsky for the commencement speech.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy
