Rough morning here. Awakened by hail and reports of tornadoes. The lake formerly known as my back yard continues to rise.

We had all that stuff come through yesterday. Several tornados out west from us.

Big big weather.

Got water coming into your basement, Mik?
Hope you're not having the tornadoes. Scary stuff there.

It's moving through WVA now, we'll see it this afternoon.

A very well defined front should be some fun wind.

The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

The rain has stopped and my drainage system is slowly reducing the lake.

For me, too. I'm west of Copper, close to the WV line, and the wind is just now freshening.

I got poured on during my daily walk. It started when I was at the halfway point turning around so there was no cutting it short to get out of it. I had a raincoat on but my jeans and shoes are soaked. It's supposed to continue all day.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

But on the plus side I pretty much got my goals for the day covered before 11am.

Nice. Seems a bit hillier here than in the western suburbs of chicago....

Not to be overly fussy, but for those who are relying on news from the west, I need to make a correction.

I wrote earlier that the wind where I am was freshening. It has unfreshened, and all is calm now, but I can hear distant wind sounds. So whatever it is, is descending later than I thought. FWIW.

And the skies are white, with patches of pale blue.

ETA: 12:30P. Rain just started.

Not raining anymore. The sky is gorgeously blue, and will be till the weekend. So you know that means? Finally, I can dig up my front lawn and replace it with cactus. :weeping:

It's 80 degrees and beautiful sunshine here in Savannah, GA.

3 more hours of work, and then we go to a Scottish pub.

Snowing here... They say, 1-2 inches. Meh. 2 is barely enough to worry about.

It was spitting earlier, but that was about it. We've had very little snow this year and it's always melted within a day or so.

Yes, thanks for the links and we did incorporate some things in. So, it won't be all cactus.

The landscape architects swear the yard will be pretty, but I just hate to lose my daylilies and begonias. I really worked on those guys.

We got your snow this year :) I've loved it, way better than the grey rain we normally have.
