"Handle is a research robot that stands 6.5 ft tall, travels at 9 mph and jumps 4 feet vertically. It uses electric power to operate both electric and hydraulic actuators, with a range of about 15 miles on one battery charge. Handle uses many of the same dynamics, balance and mobile manipulation principles found in the quadruped and biped robots we build, but with only about 10 actuated joints, it is significantly less complex. Wheels are efficient on flat surfaces while legs can go almost anywhere: by combining wheels and legs Handle can have the best of both worlds."

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

I wonder what such a robot costs.

Even the small and slow ones we have in our department can easily cost a million Euro. A single robot arm costs more than 50,000 Euros.

I'm pretty sure that a robot such as this one costs more than 10M to make.

Now, imagine a swarm of these guys on a battlefield, negotiating obstacles, fearless, armed and controlled remotely.

Yes, but a well placed, EMP would bring them all down. :lol2:

Hey Jolly, see the video GeorgeK posted in the opening post. Suppose some liberal-Democratic dictator sends a hoard of that robot to your compound to confiscate your guns, how would you and your fellow 2nd Amendment patriots neutralize such a threat?

Not to mention a wad of bubble gum fired into the orientation sensor with a slingshot boomerang.

FIFM.

And a well placed joystick could turn them on their masters.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. I dunno... A magnet? A big pit with a camouflaged tarp over top? Shoot out the cameras? Shoot for the powerpack? Use the same device the Patriots use to scramble opposing teams communications? A few well placed land mines?

Too much hassle. Just wait a few minutes until the battery is empty.

Tar? A pit filled with wet cement? A pit filled with water (it's going to be built by the lowest bidder, I am sure corners will be cut)? Having it compute pi to the last decimal? Use drones and steel cable to reenact the Hoth Battle from Empire Strikes Back? Drop something really heavy on it?
