Do activists make minimum wage? |
|
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

This has nothing to do with minimum wage. If the employees were making $5/hr. they would still be doing this. Everyone else will follow in short order. Warehouse jobs are about to disappear as well. Edited by Steve Miller, Feb 28 2017, 07:11 PM.

It's bad enough their food sucks. That is 99.999% the reason I stay away from these places. Now they are going to make them into giant vending machines? No thanks. |

It seems a little hard to blame a minimum wage law that effects maybe 1% of the country. Especially since this trend toward self checkout is about a decade old. Of course higher employment costs do effect decisions at the margin. So it's not like there's no effect. But basically this becomes a political Rorschach's test. |

First place I saw this fully implemented was a high end Italian bistro at JFK. Before that just for wine lists. |

Might be a good time to talk about the Robot tax. Call it a kiosk tax if you like. Some one is going to have to support a whole lot of people who can't get jobs once this trend takes hold. |
