Some mainstream "intellectual" wrote about religion and his choices: http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/26/opinions/believer-personal-faith-essay-reza-aslan/index.html
If the facts of your religion are mutually exclusive with the facts of other religions, then there are only two choices*: your religious language is broken, or you do believe that your religion is more true and better than all others. All the pretenders who want to pretend that all religions are the same can't seem to admit that simple fact. Was Jesus divine or not? (etc, etc.) Does it break something fundamental to you, one way or another? Gosh I wonder. * The third choice is, of course, "logic sucks, religion rules, so fvck off". |

Only in theory. Impurities in water can often be used to identify the source of the water. It so disappointing and misleading when religious hacks use metaphors that are scientifically unsound. |

Subterfuge. Plain and simple. In the end it's kill or be killed. The scientists have known this for years. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

Kill or be killed or no dumb-ass religions. Just remove the mutually exclusive stuff, then we're ok. Jesus was just one of an infinite number of possible manifestations of divinity. Just one "truth" which serves as the cornerstone of something important. Other truths exist in other religions. Hey, it's all non-disprovable anyway. Why insist on any logic? I'm divine, you're divine, we're all divine. Not Divine though. God no, not Divine. |

Drop religion and we end up arguing whether it's ok to kill babies because you have a right to privacy. People were wired to kill long before there was any religion. So was just about every living thing. Don't go blaming religion that just starts another religious war. |

I don't blame religion. I think it keeps the barbarians in line. I think it could be done better. Without logic breaking nonsense. But then it wouldn't create tribes, so what's the point? We all want to feel better than the next guy. Which religion we believe is some sort of bedrock for that. |
