Finally
|
Background. I have several email accounts with GoDaddy. One I use for everyday communications, one for online shopping, one for eBay...etc. I also have a gmail account that I rarely use. I access all of these accounts using Apple's "Mail" program, though, of course, I can access gmail via the web interface, as well as GoDaddy. So, as you know, I've got the Cheddarshack on the market, and our realtor tried to email an offer to me yesterday. She tried several times, but nothing came through. I checked the GoDaddy web interface, and there was nothing. I called GoDaddy to inquire, and a very nice tech told me that nothing from the domain of the realtor had come to their servers (this was around noon yesterday). As a test, I sent myself an email from several of my accounts, and they all came through, in a matter of minutes. I continued to get mail from other sources as well. It's just that email from the realtor was not coming through - and no, it wasn't bouncing back to them because of a mis-entered address or something. I finally had the realtor send the paperwork to my gmail account, where it arrived quickly. So, this morning, I checked my email, and in the Apple Mail, I saw this: ![]() All of those attempts came through at about 2 AM! What the hell? So, I checked over at GoDaddy, and saw this: ![]() Look at the timestamps, though! NONE of those mails were there when I checked yesterday at about noon. Can anyone explain this? |

E-mail, much like postal mail, was never designed to be "quick" or "reliable." Sometimes, various mail servers get held up for any number of reasons and your mail can arrive late or get lost. Direct to Gmail works a little more reliably because Google generally runs its services better, that's about it.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead

I have had that happen with emails just this week and texts as well. I got two emails that were over a week old. |

My first thought is that the email sat on the agent's machine for a while due to some kind of problem with the agent's email or network. But if GMail worked ok then the problem is probably with your GoDaddy - assuming she used the same system when sending to GMail. I agree the timestamps are goofy. They are spread over 105 minutes on Apple and 119 minutes on GoDaddy. So they seem to have been hung up somewhere but didn't all release from the hang at the same time. That seems goofy, but then I'm not sure what exactly the timestamps mean. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

I think that's just because he screenshotted(screenshat?) 8 emails on one and 9 on the other. |
