It was 81 here today, 81. A year ago we still had snow. I mowed the lawn today, not all, just a small area that was growing. I don't think I ever mowed in Feb. before. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

So Brenda, I guess you won't be getting any gardening done...? We had our "big storm" last weekend, biggest storm in.....? A long time? Maybe Steve Miller will know. Anyway, they made such a big deal over it. Make sure you have GPS in your car. Don't go out unless you have to. Keep your cell phones fully charged. I loved it, there was no one on the road. Of course SoCal storms can't compare to wind chills of -4 and 27 mph gusts. So I recommend you stay indoors, bake some bread, and send me a loaf.

LOL, Friday! It's tapering off, and the blizzard warning has been reduced to a winter storm warning. It's really not too cold out here, and that's why the snow totals don't really tell how heavy this stuff is. I shoveled the front steps, back steps, and a path to the garage, but I let hubby use the snowblower for all the rest. Holy cow, it's heavy stuff. No bread today, but a spicy shrimp curry will hit the spot for us at dinner. And for all the folks reporting warm temperatures, we had 50s and 60s here this past week. So beware! |
