Mmmmmmm, pie!
Boil that all down and what you have is a man who thinks the solution to the problems of the world is to surrender your rights and freedoms as an individual to a governing master for the "greater good" - the very basis of Socialism and Communism. It's typical Leftist pap, easy to understand why a liberal would think what he says makes any sense.

honest question

setting aside all the specific arguments, what i have never understood is why climate change has to be such a politcially partisan issue.

why cant one be deeply politicaly conservative, always vote republican, believe in small government with giving power to individual states, ill throw in deeply anti abortion, pro gun laws, and still think there is global warming.

or, why cant one be deeply liberal, a bernie sanders socialist left wing, pro obama care, pro government intervention for social causes, anti gun, and also, by the way, think that there is no global warming.

what makes global warming such a politically charged issue??

strange
Here's a TED talk that talks about your question based on Globalism vs. Nationalism. I thought of your question when I heard it.

Nationalism vs. Globalism
Thanks for that.

You should really try and watch the whole thing, he doesn't call for surrendering rights and freedoms. He explains why he thinks certain problems that we face require cooperation between nations. (In much the same way that problems in the past required cooperations between smaller territorial groups). Or at least that's my summary from half way through.

Yes. Watched the entire thing and then watched his other TED talk. Makes some good points. Nowhere does he call for surrendering rights and freedoms.
