Harry Reid is all hat and no cattle. Remember the accusations about Romney's income taxes? That went nowhere, but he did say it on the floor of the United States Senate. And also refused to apologize for lying like that. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

Here's something else. Excerpted from CNN, AFAIK the latest: Of course, only Comey knows what his intent was. But Richard W. Painter, the chief White House ethics lawyer from 2005-07 (during the George W. Bush Administration), argued in a New York Times op-ed on Sunday that Comey's intent can be inferred from the absence of a good reason for sending the letter. "Absent extraordinary circumstances that might justify it, a public communication about a pending F.B.I. investigation involving a candidate that is made on the eve of an election is . . . very likely to be a violation of the Hatch Act and a misuse of an official position," Painter wrote. WTF? Absence of a good reason??? Secondly, this is a situation Comey could not win. Had he not communicated with the Senate and it came out later that he knew about the emails before the election -- what then? He violated the Hatch Act by keeping silent! The key text is the emphasized phrase -- which conditions a violation of the statute on whether the employee's purpose was to interfere with or affect the result of an election. Then Reid jumps on the bandwagon. Lordie. |

Harry Reid used the floor or the senate to accuse Romney of tax evasion. Isn't that a violation of the Hatch act? |

Mmmmmmm, pie!

Harry Reid is a douchbag. He has always been a douchebag. The man doesn't give a rat's ass about this nation, or about the truth. All he has ever cared about is promoting the democrat party. The day he finally leaves office will be a great day in American history, and I vote for establishing a national holiday to celebrate his leaving. |

Comey touched the tar baby back in July, and now there's no way out of it. He should've made his recommendations not to prosecute Clinton silently, and privately to the Attorney General. If his investigation of warrants more actions, that should've been done silently and privately as well. |

I certainly don't know, but it would not surprise me if he did just that, and the AG tossed it back at him. Politicians are a gnarly lot. |

As I've said in other threads, I think Comey's decision to hold a public announcement in July was a mistake. I also feel that last Friday's letter, though appropriate (see below), should not have been publicized by Chafetz. However, to cite Eric Holder as a source of integrity with respect to the DOJ is nothing more than self-parody. Here's a man who was held in contempt of Congress. He claimed executive privilege, and that denial was refused by a court. He still stands in contempt. Until he comes clean, I take nothing he says with any grain of credibility. And don't get me started on the Marc Rich pardon and Loretta Lynch taking the 5th. Integrity? C'mon... Should Comey have notified the House about further investigations? Of course. As Jon pointed out, the investigation is not "closed" (though we disagree on the semantics), and it would be the responsibilty of any honest person to report to the agency that questioned him that he had come across new information that may contradict statements that he may have said under oath. |

There are many words to describe his administration. Integrity is not even close to any of them |
